tears are coming

So, now the count is down to 32 days. Can you believe it? That is barely over a month until I move to the Big Apple once again. Who knew time would go by so fast?? And it's starting to hit me like a ton of bricks...not the fact that I have less than one month until I take my last academic final for the rest of my entire life. That hasn't really set in yet. But the fact that I'm going to be leaving one of my favorite places in all the world in less than a month...that's starting to settle. (In fact, I'm getting that burning feeling in my eyes and nose right now as I type this.) To make all of this even worse, I've been extremely emotional in the last week, for me anyway, so not only have I been thinking about this, I've been CRYING about it too.

Today I was looking at something posted on the Auburn website about the graduation ceremony and I started to tear up. Then later in the day I was reading a poem about "moving on in your life" and I started to cry again. Then when I was making my dinner tonight, I realized that there are only two more Saturdays that I'll be in Auburn living here (excluding exam week...but nothing counts during exam week). Ever again.

Anyway, so I decided to take Pam's advice and start documenting on my blog, not only just the number of days that are left until my return to the city (since originally my blog was solely dedicated to the number of days left until I moved back), but the things that I'm going to miss so much when I don't live in Auburn anymore.

Here's a start :

Ok, so I actually killed several birds with one stone in this pic, because it's loaded with things I'm gonna miss. The first and most obvious...CHICK FIL A! I know that there is a Chick Fil A in the NYU food court on campus in NYC, but it still won't be the same. It won't be as convenient and I don't think the food court is open during the summer months, so it'll be a while before I get this again, once I move. However, I have a feeling during final project week, I'll get enough to have my fill for a while. The second thing in this picture that I'm gonna miss is the studio. Sounds crazy, and I'll probably regret saying that in a few weeks once I spend approximately 120 straight hours there. But that studio has also been the home to many great memories, the place where a lot of great friendships were made, and my second home for the past four years. And last but not least of the things I'm gonna miss in this picture, is Peek's square project. Yes, I hated this project when I did it. But if you can see it, look how amazing they are once they're finished. And each year, it's fun to see the paintings and the art that the current sophomores pick to do for their project. It'll be sad not seeing all of the finished products again next year...

24 March 2008

And thanks to LA, in exactly 8 weeks from today, I will be in a new hire orientation. woo hoo!

20 March 2008

09 March 2008

66 days!!! just over 2 months...

(Pam, the baby is sooo close to being here!)

29 February 2008

26 February 2008

78 days.

I wonder if I could think of 78 reasons why I can't wait to be back in New York...

20 February 2008

So, now that it is getting closer and closer, I actually realized that my countdown was off by 8 days. The date that I had been counting down to was an estimate of when I thought would be getting back, and because of some changes in dates for my internship and stuff, I realized that instead of 92 days left, I really only have 84!!!

Yay!

13 February 2008

But there's good news...

So, I didn't tell Pam about this, but I started having a major freak out attack a few weeks ago and decided that I didn't want to move back to New York - never. Didn't even want to come visit. Ever again. Who wants to live in New York?! or go visit there?? I was gonna move to the beach this summer and do my internship there. Or possibly even go back to Tuscaloosa. It's not such a bad place, right? But LA reassured me that this can be and is sometimes normal when thinking about moving there for good -- or she had those thoughts when thinking about moving there last summer...

Anyway, I am ready to be back and am anxiously looking forward to the end of May in hopes that I will be in NYC yet once again. Now, this seemingly pointless blog is all coming together because, I have to thank LeeAnne for doing something yesterday that contributed to my excitement and anxiousness to get back even more than it has been recently...so, sorry I am stealing this picture from you for my blog. Hope it isn't copyrighted...

Yes, this is a beautiful and amazing picture of Ghandi in Union Square in the snow. (don't laugh!) This picture alone emcompasses soooo many reasons that I want to move back to New York that I'm not even going to try to list or cover them all. Just to thank LA for sending it to me and for helping me discover the g-chat animated hearts last night. Which also leads me to say, Pam I can't wait to be roomies!!!

DOUBLE DIGITS!!!

99 days. This is so bizarre. I am already down to the double digits. When I started this whole blog thing, I think it was like 190 days or something -- and it seems like I just started it. So, less than one hundred days will fly by, right? Now it's uncomfortably close. Only uncomfortable because I don't have an internship yet, and the thought of moving back home and living at Lakewood Hills Drive in Northport, Alabama for three months is really, really scary.

But I guess I don't have an internship in Tuscaloosa either?

This blog is being a very good tool in contributing to my amount of stress right now. I should be doing some magic with Auto CAD right now and designing a healthcare rehab facility floor plan, but NO, I'm once again stressing out about something else...

02 February 2008

110 days!!! And, happy birthday today to Pamcakes!

And, since I missed two days ago -- happy birthday to LA too! hopefully, we will be able to celebrate my 23rd together :)

29 January 2008

114 days. Time is flying. It seems like just yesterday that I updated...

11 January 2008

after a long sabbatical

Well, once again I have fallen down on the job of keeping my blog updated. But it is getting unbelievably closer -- in fact it's a little scary to me. But it is now down to 132 DAYS!!!

The thought of moving back to NYC and being with all the wonderful people there is so exciting and makes me not be able to wait. But all the sudden it has hit me that this is my last semester in one of the greatest places ever - Auburn. Hopefully I will be able to find a medium balance of really enjoying the current time in my life and really being happy where I am at the moment, while also being excited about the future and where my life is leading.

Annnd, I know this is a little late, but I just wanted to show LA, Pam, and V how much I enjoyed my birthday and Christmas surprise...so, I made my sister take a picture of me scarfing down the RICE TO RICHES that ya'll sent me. Heaven. It was amazing and so are all three of ya'll!

So, thank you, thank you, thank you! And I can't wait until we can all go there again TOGETHER!!!
